Evaluating an accident case in terms of value.
A lot of people come to see us and they say what is the value of my case and it really depends on each specific instance.
- Do you have you had surgery?
- Do you require surgery?
- Do you have permanent injury or is it something that we hope passes and you improve and you get better, you don’t have permanent injury?
- How will it affect my income?
- Do I have lost income from the past?
- Do I suffer from six months of lost income?
- Will I be permanently out of work?
The type of work you do might be a sit down job, it might be physical labor skilled labor but really every case depends on the severity of the injury, the future medical care and whether or not you’ll be able to return to work.
Also in a personal injury case you’re entitled to pain and suffering that’s both emotional pain and suffering as well as physical pain and suffering.
In Florida the courts and the jury is allowed to place a value on the pain and suffering that you have.
A spouse of an injured person also has their own claim and that relates to the loss of services emotional relationship that a spouse provides so every case is different.
Some cases have values in the tens of thousands and some of them have values in the millions of dollars and really we work with you to make sure you get the proper evaluation, medical care that you need and sit with you to discuss what we think the value of your case is and how best to settle it for you.
